   Έχουμε μιλήσει ξανά για το  Μουσείου Λαογραφίας & Χριστιανικής τέχνης στην πανέμορφη Ανδρο. Το μουσείο λοιπόν, στο πλαίσιο της  ιδέας Τουρισμός – Πολιτισμός και με αφορμή τα 15 χρόνια λειτουργίας & προβολής του Ανδριώτικου Πολιτισμού, παρουσιάζει την έκθεση:  

  «ΑΝΔΡΟΣ : ΤΟ ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΕΙΟ ΦΩΣ ΣΤΗ ΖΩΓΡΑΦΙΚΗ ΤΩΝ ΚΥΚΛΑΔΩΝ»

Η έκθεση ξεκινάει την βραδιά της πρώτης Πανσελήνου του Αυγούστου, 8 του μήνα στις 21:00 και θα διαρκέσει ως τις 30 Αυγούστου. 

  

Το Μουσείο Λαογραφίας & Χριστιανικής Τέχνης ιδρύθηκε από τον Μάριο Βασιλόπουλο & Ειρήνη Μαντζαβελάκη Βασιλοπούλου και στεγάζεται στο παλαιό εργοστάσιο πάγου ¨Μαντζαβελάκη» το οποίο χρονολογείται από τις αρχές του 1900.

1999-2014: 15 Χρόνια Μουσείο Λαογραφίας & Χριστιανικής Τέχνης στην Άνδρο / 15 Years promoting the history and Culture of Andros

 Το Μουσείο Λαογραφίας & Χριστιανικής Τέχνης της Άνδρου εορτάζει φέτος τα 15 χρόνια από την ίδρυση του το 1999 από τους Μάριο & Ειρήνη Βασιλοπούλου.Η επιστημονική  τεκμηρίωση  έγινε από την καθηγήτρια Λαογραφίας του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών , Κατερίνα Κορρέ.

Στο πλαίσιο της ιδέας ΤΟΥΡΙΣΜΟΣ – ΠΟΛΙΤΙΣΜΟΣ το ξενοδοχείο Paradise Art Hotel είχε στόχο με την ίδρυση του μουσείου να προβάλλεται η ιστόρια του νησιού, η τέχνη και οι κάτοικοί του.

Αυτό έγινε με εκδόσεις και παρουσιάσεις στο εξωτερικό (Λονδίνο , Ν.Υόρκη) με οργανώσεις διεθνών συνεδρίων με εκθέσεις από Ανδριώτες καλλιτέχνες , με θέσπιση τοπικών εορτών με σκοπό την γαστρονομία της Άνδρου κ.ά

Με την συμβολή του, το μουσείο ανέδειξε επίσης τους μεταβυζαντινούς Ανδριώτες Αγιογράφους κάτι το οποίο ήταν άγνωστο μέχρι τότε.

Η διάσωση του οικήματος όπου στεγάζεται το μουσείο , είναι το ίσιο σημαντική (είναι παλιό εργοστάσιο πάγου της οικογένειας ΜΑΝΤΖΑΒΕΛΑΚΗ από τις αρχές του 1900) διότι μας δίνει πληροφορίες για την βιομηχανική Αρχαιολογία όπως λέγεται – των μηχανημάτων και των συνθηκών εργασίας τότε. 

Φέτος στο μουσείο θα παρουσιαστεί η έκθεση «Άνδρος : Απολλώνειο Φως» με την ματιά της διεθνούς φήμης τεχνοκριτικού Ντόρα Ρογκάν Ηλιοπούλου.

The Folklore  & Christian Art Museum, Andros, celebrates its 15th anniversary since the opening in 1999 by Marios & Irene Vassilopoulou ; in collaboration with the Professor of Folklore at the University of Athens, Katerina KORRE.

With the idea of  Tourism and Culture hand in hand,  “Paradise Art Hotel” sought the establishment of the museum to display the history of the island, art, and residents.

This was carried out by publications and presentations abroad (London, New York etc.) the organisation of international conferences, interviews with Andros artists, the establishment of local holidays to highlight gastronomy of Andros etc.

The museum has made a significant contribution to cultural awareness of  post-Byzantine iconography in Andros; an area which had not previously been studied in depth.

The refurbishment of the building which houses the museum, is also of cultural significance (an old ice factory owned by the Mantzavelakis family from early 1900) because it is a fine example of industrial archeology – living history of machinery and working conditions of the past.

This year, the Museum will present the exhibition “Andros Apollonian Light” with the curation by the internationally renowned art critic Dora Rogan Iliopoulou.

For those of you that are not familiar with Andros island, its main  port is at Gavrio, with a regular connection to Rafina, while the ports of Batsi, Hora and Korthi can facilitate fishing and touristic boats .At the western part of Andros are the big sandy beaches of the island, easily accesible and developed. Those seeking quiet beaches and rough landscapes should visit the northeastern and southeastern parts .There are many rivers and torrents and plenty of springs. Ravines have rich vegetation with plane and walnut trees, while the slopes (especialy at the south) are full of oak trees. Since a long time ago, big parts of the slopes have been transformed, using stone walls, to step-like shapes locally called “emasies”. Around the villages there are olive and lemon trees groves and many vineyards. Andros owes its ancient names “Idrousa”, “Lasia”, “Nonagria” and “Epagris” to water and its rich vegetation .The northwestern part of the island is bushy and somebody can see partidges, hawks or even rarer predatory birds, like eagles, wild pigeons and martins
